Where Light, Sound, and Craft Become One
Gibson helped shape the sound of Nashville—and the feeling that comes with it. To mark Gibson’s 50th year building guitars in the city, the campaign introduces a public installation overlooking downtown—built into the landscape and shaped like a guitar.
Part venue, part landmark, the space brings together light, sound, and craftsmanship in one place.
Overlooking downtown Nashville, the installation transforms the hillside into a public gathering space shaped by music, landscape, and light. At its center, the guitar’s sound hole becomes an immersive James Turrell–inspired skyspace — blending water, sound, and illumination into a living architectural experience.
As performances unfold beneath the surface, ripples move across the glowing reflective pool above, turning sound into something visitors can physically see and feel.
Sound Becomes Landscape
Visitors enter through the headstock and descend through a subterranean gallery celebrating the instruments, artists, and craftsmanship that helped shape Nashville’s musical identity. Framed by warm lighting, curated artifacts, and immersive architectural details, the corridor serves as a transition between the city above and the chamber hidden beneath the landscape.
As the passage unfolds, the experience becomes quieter, more atmospheric, and increasingly immersive — building anticipation before opening into the performance space beyond.
Beneath the Surface
Hidden beneath the landscape, the chamber transforms performance into an immersive architectural experience. Surrounded by cascading stadium seating and anchored beneath a glowing reflective ceiling, the space blends music, light, water, and atmosphere into a venue designed to be felt as much as heard.
At the center, performances unfold beneath the illuminated sound hole above — where rippling water reacts to the music below, turning resonance into a living part of the architecture itself.

Shape the Next Gibson
Visitors can submit original guitar designs through an interactive microsite connected to Gibson’s digital platform. Selected concepts will be brought to life by Gibson and featured within the installation itself — turning fans into collaborators in the future of Gibson craftsmanship.
